Sameer graduated in 2012 with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from CUSAT. During campus placements, he secured offers from both TCS and L&T Construction, choosing to begin his career with L&T.
During his college years, he observed a troubling pattern: A mere handful of months before placement season, a reputed coaching institute near the old SOE campus offered English-speaking courses to help students prepare for interviews. Many of Sameer's friends and all his flatmates enrolled. But even after completing the 3–month program, they struggled to speak confidently; finding themselves back at square one when real interviews began.
After a year at L&T, Sameer joined Coal India Limited, where he worked for six years. It was during his time there that he earned admission to the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, a significant milestone.
However, his passion to solve the real and persistent problem of spoken English fluency among Indian professionals drove him in a different direction. Instead of pursuing the IIM opportunity, he chose to build a solution from the ground up. That decision gave birth to Clapingo.
